PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – IGT announced on Thursday that they will be making some adjustments to their internal operations as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in Rhode Island.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on many of IGT’s customers and markets we serve,” IGT Chairman Robert Vincent said in a statement. “We are taking specific actions to bring our operations in line with customer and player demand.”

Those actions include base salary reductions for senior leaders, and “short-term furlough programs” for certain employee groups.

Vincent says those certain employee groups getting those furlough programs are not primarily involved in operation and customer support activities.

The furlough programs will start on April 6 for a duration of 8 weeks. This will impact around 320 employees, according to Vincent.

Vincent says those employees will continue to receive health and welfare benefits during the furlough.
