Plane crashes into New Hampshire lake, pilot’s body recovered

GILFORD, N.H. (WLNE) — Authorities in New Hampshire confirmed the body of a pilot who’s plane crashed into a lake Saturday night was recovered.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that a Cessna 150 crashed into Lake Winnipesaukee, near Gilford, at 9:15 p.m., and that the pilot was the only person on board.

According to our sister station, WMUR News 9, in Manchester, New Hampshire, the National Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation.

A cause for the crash was not immediately released.
