New Bedford residents cast their votes in preliminary election

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Tuesday is preliminary municipal election day for New Bedford residents.

Those who did not participate in absentee or early voting will be casting their votes for the city’s mayor, councilor at large, and Ward 5 councilor.

The winning candidates will advance to the general election on Nov. 7.

Polls will stay open until 8 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to set aside some time and cast their vote.
