Topgolf Rhode Island ready for experienced, first-time players
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Topgolf Rhode Island is opening its doors to the public Friday. The modern golf experience is settling into its new home in Cranston.
It’s the first ever Topgolf to open in New England. There is one in the works in Canton, Massachusetts.
Employees at Topgolf told ABC 6 News they’re ready for players to take a swing.
“We are expecting a ton of players to come out. We have reservations available and we are booking up quickly. You can simply go to topgolf.com and you can set up for the time you want to come in,” said Chanda Burleson, director of operations at Topgolf.
“It is an entertainment venue. You do not need to know how to play golf, that is the beauty of it. You can come in, have fun, we will show you how to play. We have food made from scratch, we have amazing drinks, and a chef team that puts out amazing food and we host big events, as well,” added Burleson.
Topgolf Rhode Island is the 91st location in the world.
“I am extremely excited. It is wonderful to start off with a new company like this, it is very refreshing. A new job and a lot of new opportunities coming up,” said Ricardo Restreao, bay host at Topgolf.
The year-round venue features 102 outdoor climate-controlled hitting bays spanning three separate levels, each bay with a lounging area for groups to gather.
“It is pretty much going to be a winter wonderland. On a nice snowy day, come over here and shoot, you run out of things to do once you can’t get outside,” said Restreao.
Roughly 500 people were hired to work at Topgolf, and they are looking forward to welcoming the public in.
“I love dealing with new people and meeting new people, so I am excited to see people’s faces from around Rhode Island and the surrounding states,” added Restreao.
