State police release update on victims in Holyoke shooting
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said that multiple patrol, K-9, and investigative units were dispatched to Holyoke Wednesday afternoon after reports of a shooting.
Media Relation Director Dave Procopio said that the units were sent to Maple Street assist Holyoke police officers in the search for the perpetrator of the shooting around 12:45 p.m.
Procopio said that multiple people suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital.
He added that it appeared that one of the victims was on a bus when they were shot, and the shooting was the result of an “altercation” between individuals.
“There is not believed to be any ongoing threat to the public,” Procopio said.
The incident is being investigated by the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office.
