Employee at Electric Boat in Quonset tests positive for COVID-19 along with company president

QUONSET, R.I. (WLNE) – An employee at Electric Boat’s Quonset Point location has tested positive for COVID-19.

This employee works in the IT department and has not been on site since March 27.

This individual was tested upon recommendation of their healthcare provider. Electric Boat was notified of the individual’s positive results late Friday night.

The person had very limited contact with others.

All immediate coworkers have been contacted and a thorough disinfecting of their work space has been conducted in accordance with public health guidance.

In addition, President of Electric Boat, Kevin Graney has also tested positive for COVID-19.

He said his symptoms remain mild, but will remain out of all facilities until cleared by medical professionals.

In the meantime, it is said that Kurt A. Hesch will lead the organization for normal daily activities and events.
