State House lit up in red for first responders and those on frontline

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): The State House will be lit red for the next week to honor first responders and those on the frontline helping fight COVID-19.

“Red is typically the color we associate with our first responders,” Governor Gina Raimondo said. “The traditional first responders, law enforcement, and healthcare workers are out there working 24/7 hours a day on the frontline of this crises to keep us safe.”

“In this instance, in this fight, it’s much broader than what we think of as the traditional first responders,” Raimondo said. “It includes thousands of people around this state pitching in to do what’s required at this moment of crises.”

“I want you to look up at the State House and see that red dome and know it’s a big thank you from every Rhode Islander to you.”
