Woonsocket man and woman charged with child abuse

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said a man and woman from Woonsocket were charged with he abuse of a child with a BB gun.

Paul Marcheterre, 37, was charged with one count of second-degree child abuse, one count of felony assault, and one count of disorderly conduct, while Ann Doyon, 28, was  charged with one count of child endangerment.

Neronha said that on May 31 Marcheterre shot a child that was in the custody of Doyon with a BB gun at a residence in Woonsocket.

Neronha added that Doyon did not intervene in the assault.

The defendants are scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on Jan. 25, 2024.
