PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island started an emergency fund for war-torn Israel.

The organization announced the fund on Thursday to help with urgently needed financial assistance for those impacted by the violence.

“In times of crisis, we stand together,” the organization said in a statement. “While our hearts break for the fallen and their families, we are proud that the Rhode Island community rallies to show support. We pray for peace and the safety and security of all those in Israel.”

All of the donations will go toward victims of terror and trauma in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

As of Thursday, the war claimed the lives of at least 2,400 people on both sides.
