Suspect named in Bristol police shooting that took place Thursday

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — The Bristol Police Department have released the name of the man who allegedly followed two women to the police station Thursday night before being shot by an officer.
Police told ABC 6 that Mark Rinn allegedly followed two women from Colt State Park to the police station after making obscene gestures at them while naked.
The 39-year-old also allegedly rammed into the women’s vehicle repeatedly in front of the station before being shot by an officer who was on administrative duty.
Safety expert Todd McGhee said that residents should always call the police if they’re being followed.
Stay on the line with the dispatcher, while they are on the line they’ll send the necessary resources,” he said. “Don’t get out and confront the individual because you don’t know their state of mind.”
The two women only suffered minor injuries, police said.
