Bristol-Plymouth Technical High School breaks ground on $150M building project

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol-Plymouth Technical High School hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of its $150 million building project.
The project, which has been in development since 2019, was approved for funding by voters in March 2022.
The new building will replace the old one on Hart Street, and aims to “address the current [building’s] deficiencies” including failing building systems, challenges to accessibility, and the lack of an auditorium.
“Today we’re celebrating the beginning of a new era,” Superintendent Alex Magalhaes. “We’re very proud of the accomplishments we’ve made so far.”
The new school building is designed to support 1,434 students and is set to be opened in 2026.
