RI received over 15,000 unemployment claims on Tuesday alone

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – In just one day, the state of Rhode Island received over 15,000 unemployment claims.

The total number of claims received on Tuesday, April 7 was a whopping 15,282 claims.

Of the 15,282 claims, 10,910 were Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claims.

4,118 of the total claims were COVID-19 specific, and 254 claims were regular unemployment assistance claims.
