PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — First responders in Providence were on the scene of a fatal rollover crash on Dike Street where a car flipped over onto train tracks.

On Monday, January 7th, shortly before 4:30 a.m, the vehicle crashed through the fence, and vaulted approximately 30 feet and came to rest on the tracks, which were energized at the time.

Police say when they arrived on scene they found a car upside down.

52-year-old victim, Amado Fuentes, from Cranston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amtrak temporarily kept tracks closed between Rt. 128 (RTE) and Providence stations. As of approximately 7:43 a.m, tracks began to reopen, and all trains are currently on the move. Residual delays should be expected
