Former attorney arrested for threatening Supreme Court Justice

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – State Police arrested a former lawyer Friday on charges of threatening a Supreme Court Justice
Nicholas Gelfuso, 36, of Cranston, was arrested Friday by members of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force.
State Police said the arrest stems from allegations that Gelfuso had sent numerous threatening emails to a member of the State Supreme Court.
Detectives obtained a warrant and Gelfuso, a former attorney whose license was suspended in 2017, was arrested without incident during a motor vehicle stop.
Gelfuso faces the following charges:
- Threats to Public Officials
- Cyberstalking and Cyberharassment
Gelfuso is scheduled to be arraigned in Sixth Division District Court Friday afternoon.
