North Kingstown Animal Shelter under new management

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The North Kingstown Police Department said that the town’s municipal animal shelter will be under new management starting Wednesday.

The North Kingstown Animal Shelter Support Foundation will now be in charge of day-to-day operation of the shelter.

The police department said the non-profit has been a long-time partner with the town, and will now be responsible for the care of animals at the shelter.

Police added that animal control officers will now operate out of the police department.
