Cranston Housing Authority celebrates 62 years of service

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials from the city of Cranston gathered Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the 62 years since the opening of the Cranston Housing Authority.

Cranston residents, city council members, housing authority officials, police officers and the city’s Mayor, Ken Hopkins were all in attendance.

Since 1961, the Cranston Housing Authority has served as one of the largest housing authorities, providing Public Housing and Section 8 programs to families in the city.
