PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority will resume offering a special $10 Commuter Rail weekend fare starting Saturday, January 5th.
The all-weekend fare will be available from the first train on Saturday to the last train on Sunday, and can be used across all zones and lines.
The special fare was first offered as a pilot program in the summer of 2018.
Riders can purchase their ticket on the mTicket app, onboard trains, and at ticket windows at North, South, and Back Bay stations in Boston.
MBTA said the fare applies to customers age 12 and up, and will allow adults to travel with up to 2 children under 12 for no additional cost.
Rhode Island commuters can catch MBTA trains from Wickford Junction, TF Green Airport, and Providence stations.
