Hopkinton police say report of suspicious activity on Halloween was a mistake

HOPKINTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Hopkinton Police Department said that previously reported “suspicious activity” on Halloween was a mistake.

The department posted photos of two adults at a house in the Beechwood Hollow area of town on Halloween night.

“Upon further investigation it was determined the complainant from the Beechwood Hollow neighborhood erred in their reporting of the incident,” the department said in a social media post.

The department said the people shown in photos posted by the department did not partake in any criminal activity.

The department has removed the photos from its Facebook page.
