Early morning crash near Lakeville cranberry bogs sends driver to hospital

LAKEVILLE Mass. (WLNE) — The Lakeville Fire Department said that an early morning crash nearly resulted in a car dropping into Great Quittacas Pond.

The department said the crash took place on Long Point Road west of the cranberry bogs around 1 a.m.

The car came to rest “just short of an embankment” that dropped to the pond.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the trauma center at St Luke’s Hospital with what the department said are non-life threatening injuries.
