Grandparents stabbed by grandson, Providence police say

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two elderly grandparents were hospitalized after they were allegedly stabbed by their grandson Sunday night.

According to Major David Lapatin with the Providence Police Department, the two grandparents were stabbed by their grandson, who lives with them in their home on Lynch Street.

Officials said the couple was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment to their injuries, which are not life-threatening.

Police later located the grandson a few blocks away from the home on Lynch Street. His identity was not immediately released but police say he is over 18-years-old.
