Route 37 east in Cranston reopens after weekend bridge replacement

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — After a weekend-long project of replacing a structurally deficient bridge from Route 37 east in Cranston, the area reopened to traffic on Monday.

According to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, crews finished demolition of the former bridge on November 4.

Crews finished installing the new bridge Monday afternoon and the road was open to travelers around 2 p.m., Monday.

The department further thanked all crews involved in the quick replacement, as well as commuters for their patience.
