RIPTA to reopen photo identification office in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority will reopen its photo identification office at Kennedy Plaza starting Wednesday.
RIPTA officials said it will reopen once a week on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The office is where passengers can process their reduced fare bus pass applications.
The location at RIPTA headquarters on Elmwood Avenue will still be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed from noon to 1 p.m.
RIPTA officials will also go to communities across the state to give bus passes to qualified seniors and those with disabilities.
The site visits are in rural and urban areas to reach the most people to apply for the reduced fare bus pass program.

Thursday, Nov. 9: 10 a.m. to noon, Warren Senior Center, 20 Libby Lane
Tuesday, Nov. 14: 10 a.m. to noon, Lillian Feinstein Center, 1085 Chalkstone Ave., Providence
Thursday, Nov. 16: 10 a.m. to noon, Woonsocket Senior Center, 84 Social St.
Monday, Nov. 20: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Edward King House, 35 King St., Newport
