17-year-olds arrested after allegedly firing gun inside Stoughton home

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Two 17-year-old boys were arrested Tuesday morning after they allegedly fired a gun inside a home in Stoughton.
According to the Chief of the Stoughton Police Department, Donna McNamara, at approximately 10 a.m., officers responded to a home on Elm Street after reports of a gunshot in the area.
Officers surrounded the home out of an abundance of caution and two people wee evacuated from the home. One suspect, a 17-year-old boy was called out of the home by police and was taken into custody.
During a protective sweep of the home, officers said they found another 17-year-old boy and took him into custody as well.
Police later executed a search warrant of the home and recovered a loaded pistol. Officers said they also found a spent shell casing and a hole in the floor.
Both boys were charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card and taken to Dedham Juvenile Court.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The incident remains under investigation by the Stoughton Police Department.
