Giraffe sculpture unveiled at Roger Williams Park Zoo

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A new giraffe sculpture was unveiled at Providence’s Roger Williams Park Zoo on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the zoo said the sculpture was commissioned and donated by Sarah and Charley Denby to bring a unique piece of art to the giraffe yard.

The sculpture was created by artist Joseph Fichter.

“The zoo is an incredible asset to the city of Providence, and how wonderful to have this statue here,” said Parks and Recreation Superintendent Wendy Nilsson.

The zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday to Monday.
