McKee recognizes improved attendance throughout Rhode Island schools

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — As a part of the AttendanceMattersRI campaign, Governor Dan McKee recognized and highlighted the top schools in the state with the highest average weekly attendance as well as schools with greatest improvement in weekly attendance.

McKee’s office announced that the following schools are Rhode Island’s attendance leaders for the week of November 6, 2023:

  • Elementary: Segue Institute for Learning — 97.41%
  • Middle: Paul Cuffee Middle School — 96.96%
  • High School: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts — 96.79%

Special recognition was also given to the following schools for demonstrating the most improved average attendance rates from the previous week:

  • Elementary: M. Virginia Cunningham School — 3.78%
  • Middle: Exeter Academy — 3.43%
  • High School: Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex (William B. Cooley Sr. and 360 High Schools) — 4.45%

Gov. McKee further expressed their gratitude and encouragement to all Rhode Island schools in their ongoing efforts to prioritize attendance and reinforcing value of consistent learning for all students.
