Members of the United States Military will receive a paycheck on December 31, despite a government shutdown still underway.

The U.S. Coast Guard announced on their website Friday that they paychecks will go to military members who were active during December and reserve military members who drilled prior to the lapse in appropriation.

Those paychecks will include normal pay and allowance benefits.

According to the Coast Guard, this is only for December 31 and does not guarantee a paycheck on January 15.

Retirees will also receive appropriate benefits.

More details are available on their website.
