Bristol Santa House fosters inclusive holiday magic for families

BRISTOL. R.I. (WLNE) — Christmas trees, holly, nutcrackers, reindeer, and twinkling lights cover the Bristol Santa House.

The Bristol Santa House is designed as an immersive experience for children with disabilities and their families.

Town Crier Mike Riley came up with the idea over a decade ago as a way to bring holiday magic to all children.

He said the Bristol Santa House is made possible by sponsors and volunteers.

“We raise funds for all the decorations, all the construction, there’s a lot of other construction that had to be done, there’s a ramp for wheelchair access,” Riley said.

The inclusive holiday experience is free.

The Bristol Santa House offers a calm environment that’s not rushed, so children can take their time sharing their wish lists with Santa.

Those unable to stop by can leave a letter to Santa in the red mailbox outside.

The Bristol Santa House is at 240 High St. Hours and wait times may vary.
