Gasoline drops below $2 a gallon in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – The average price of a gallon of gas in Rhode Island has dropped below $2.
AAA Northeast reported Monday that with the price down 6 cents, a gallon of self-serve, regular is now selling for an average of $1.95.
That’s still 18 cents higher than the national average of $1.77, but 88 cents lower than the Rhode Island price a year ago.
AAA predicts the plummeting prices will continue.
There was a wide range of prices in Rhode Island, from a low of $1.29 to a high of $2.23 for a gallon of regular.
