Former Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia moved to Philadelphia prison

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The former Fall River mayor convicted of fraud and corruption was moved from a prison in New Hampshire to one in Pennsylvania.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons said that Jasiel Correia was moved to the Federal Detention Center Philadelphia from FCI Berlin in New Hampshire.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, the Federal Bureau of Prisons does not discuss the conditions of confinement of any incarcerated individuals, including transfers or reasons for transfers,” the FBOP said in a statement. “However, we can confirm, Jasiel F. Correia II is in the custody of the FBOP at the Federal Detention Center Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”
The former mayor was convicted in May of 2021 of 21 counts for defrauding investors through his “SnoOwl” app and extorting money from marijuana companies.
He was scheduled to argue an appeal of his conviction in September 2022.
Correia was officially sworn in as Fall River’s youngest mayor, at only 23-years-old, in January 2016.
Correia’s release date is scheduled for Oct. 29, 2026.
