Person walking on highway hit, killed in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A person walking on Route 95 was hit by multiple vehicles and killed Friday night, Rhode Island State Police confirmed to ABC6 News.

Police said a 79-year-old man was hit just after 7 p.m. near exit 41A in Pawtucket.

Police aren’t sure why the man walked onto the highway.

State police continue to investigate the crash, but have not made any arrests in the case.

They have not yet identified the victim, pending notification to his family.
