Cumberland police welcome first K-9

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cumberland Police Department has welcomed its first police K-9, a comfort dog named Clipper.

The department said Clipper is an 18-week old golden retriever who was donated by Brian Babb, owner of HCC K9 Dog Training in town.

The donation includes Clipper himself, as well as equipment and training.

Clipper will be assigned to Officer Dave Ring, School Resource Officer for the Junior High Schools in town.
