Brown University grads will get two chances to mark achievements

PROVIDENCE, R.I.-

This year’s grads will get a second chance to mark their achievements in person, as the university has officially invited them back for commencement exercises in May 2021.

A commencement was initially planned for October of this year, but that idea was ruled out due to concerns of a second wave of the coronavirus.

“I am looking forward to the Virtual Degree Conferral ceremony on May 24,”  said Brown President Christina Paxson in a letter to graduates. “None of us expected that we would be apart for this important moment marking your achievements at Brown, but we already are planning ahead for the time we can be together again to cheer on the Class of 2020 for the celebration of Commencement.”
