Work on the Newport Pell Bridge to cause delays this week

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Commuters crossing the Newport Pell Bridge were advised of traffic delays Monday.

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority said traffic will be stopped in five to 10 minute intervals westbound from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.

This will allow crews to unload sections of median barrier.

The agency said it will impact travel times for those who use the bridge during that time.
