Quiet but colder weather arrives in wake of storm

Quite the start to the new work week as heavy rain and damaging winds swept across Southern New England.

Highest rain totals were north and west, but gustiest winds were south and east towards the shore.

While the weather has quieted down, we are still dealing with lingering river flooding at three locations, which will last through the next few days.

Fortunately we are looking at a quiet stretch of weather with no rain expected until next week. It will be seasonably chilly the next two days, but Thursday will be colder with highs in the 30s.

Temps rebound after that, approaching 50 Friday into the weekend. We will watch for a rain storm that will move up along the eastern seaboard on Monday of next week.
