Stolen Vehicle Stopped In North Providence Following Shots Fired in Providence

NORTH PROVIDENCE, (WLNE) – Two unidentified men are in custody after being stopped in North Providence after shots fired incident that started in Providence.
Providence Police say the shots fired incident happened in Providence before the two suspects fled in a stolen car, before being put in custody in North Providence.
Police say the two men crashed in North Providence and then took off on foot.
Nobody was injured, according to Providence Police.
Two weapons were found near the scene in the area of Smithfield Road near Cushing Street, police say.
While they are still waiting on test results, it is believed by the department that the weapons were thrown out of the car window before being stopped.
The suspects are being charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, and eluding.
One suspect is being charged with possession of a firearm.
