New Bedford High School announces new early dismissal

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Starting after their winter break, students at New Bedford High School will have an earlier dismissal time.

According to New Bedford Public Schools, starting January 2, NBHS students will be dismissed at 2:12 p.m. rather than the current dismissal time of 2:40 p.m.

School officials say the hope of the new dismissal time is to allow students more time to get academic support and professional collaboration.

Current staff dismissal time remains unchanged and the New Bedford Educators Association negotiated the new schedule change.
