North Smithfield police arrest man for alleged fentanyl trafficking

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The Smithfield Police Department said that a Pascoag resident was arrested during a traffic stop for alleged fentanyl possession.

During a traffic stop on Dec. 14, an officer allegedly witnessed strange behavior from Robinson, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

When the occupants exited the vehicle, the officer allegedly found several baggies of what appeared fentanyl, which Robinson allegedly said were his.

The department said a search of the vehicle found 52 grams of suspected fentanyl, 10 grams of suspected crack cocaine, two scales, and several baggies and containers.

Robinson was arraigned Friday morning and held as a probation violator.
