RITBA waives fees for E-ZPass transponders
NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority said that it will waive the $10 fee for an E-ZPass transponder through Jan. 5, 2024.
RITBA said the waiving of fees is a way to “mitigate the impacts of the situation at the Washington Bridge.”
The organization added that customer service hours, which are normally from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, will have additional hours on Dec. 19 and Dec. 21 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
RITBA said that E-ZPass accounts can be opened online, over the phone at 1-877-743-9727, at AAA offices, or at the RITBA offices.
The organization added that tolls for RITBA bridges is 83 cents for drivers with transponders and $6 for those without one. Billing is done through the mail.
