D.E.M. hazmat responds to suspected meth lab investigation

RICHMOND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environment Management and other emergency crews responded to a Richmond home to inspect a suspected meth lab Friday night.
Officials with the Rhode Island Department of Environment Management said their hazmat unit was also on scene assisting the town’s fire department.
They said hazmat responders are there to help in the removal of alleged drug-making chemicals.
They said police have not decided whether the case will be taken over by state or federal officials.
Police have not said how big the operation was or who were involved.
