New Bedford man convicted in cocaine trafficking case

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A New Bedford man was convicted of cocaine trafficking after a four-day trial in Fall River Superior Court.
Wilson Andino, 42, was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half to five-and-a-half years in state prison by Judge Daniel O’Shea.
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, New Bedford Police detectives executed a search warrant at a Carpo Street address on February 4, 2022.
Upon entry, the detectives found Andino cooking crack-cocaine on a kitchen stove for distribution.
Andino was observed with a measuring cup filled with 99 grams of cocaine, along with other paraphrenia.
“This defendant was caught in the act of processing crack cocaine for street sale. He has a history replete with drug distribution offenses and needs to be kept off the streets to stop him from continuing to profit off the addictions of others,” District Attorney Quinn said.
Andino has been convicted at least four other times on drug distribution charges dating back to the 1990s.
Assistant District Attorney Danielle Pixley prosecuted the case.
