Santa, NPFD visit St. Mary’s Home for Children

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Christmas came a little early for the children of St. Mary’s Home for Children in North Providence.
St. Mary’s received a surprise visit from Santa Claus and the North Providence Fire Department (NPFD) on Thursday, December 21.
The 400 children under St. Mary’s care were brought lunch and the chance to explore a fire truck.
St. Mary’s also presented the NPFD with a plaque posthumously honoring firefighter Dave “Ditz” Dilorio and police officer Gregory J. Unsworth.
Both Dilorio and Unsworth were at the center of establishing the “Angels for St. Mary’s” holiday campaign.
