Cold end to the work week before a pre-Christmas warmup

Hello winter! Very appropriate weather for the solstice tonight as wind chills fall to between 10 and 20 degrees. The first full day of winter will be very cold as well.

Temperatures shoot into the 40s over the weekend, but more cloud cover will be the tradeoff. There could even be a sprinkle late Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Christmas day will be dry and mild with highs near 50. We are also tracking a rainstorm for the middle of next week, but rivers will have a good bit more time to recede before then.
