FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – A former Westport Corrections Officer was sentenced Wednesday for a string of robberies in Fall River earlier this fall.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said Joseph Farias, 47, robbed a Fall River 7-11 store at knifepoint on September 17th 2017. He fled the location with $100 cash and was not located.
On October 4th 2017, officials said Farias robbed a Fall River Rite Aid location, indicating to the clerk that he was armed with a firearm. Farias took around $365 in cash and fled the store.
According to the DA’s Office, Farias was identified by both his former parole supervisor and his ex-wife after recognizing tattoos on Faria’s neck captured by Rite Aid surveillance video.
