HOPE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Christmas staple in the state of Rhode Island has officially closed after 67 years of bringing holiday cheer to families.

Henry’s Christmas Tree Farm shared to social media that they’re grateful for the decades of patronage and for being part of Rhode Islanders’  Christmas traditions.

The tree farm, which opened back in 1956 on Seven Mile Road, was one of the first in the state where residents could pick their own Christmas trees.

In its time, Henry’s became a staple for families in and around the Ocean State, many coming back every year to pick out their tree and donate time to help out around the farm.

The family owned farm also boasted a seasonal gift shop with ornaments and decoration for almost every occasion.
