Two charged for allegedly robbing man seeking sex

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) – A New York woman and a Massachusetts man are facing multiple charges including armed robbery after allegedly luring a man to a hotel room in Boston before robbing him at knifepoint.

Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced that Danine Simpson, 27, of the Bronx and Robert Santana, 28, of Lawrence were arraigned on Friday in Boston Municipal Court.

Boston police said they responded to the Hilton Hotel at 40 Dalton Street on December 21 regarding a call of a victim threatened with a knife.

Officers met with a man who said he had been informed of a prostitution service and arranged a meeting at the hotel.

Simpson allegedly invited the man into a room when he arrived, brandished a knife and demanded he hand over $200. The man gave her the money and reported the incident to the hotel lobby.

Officers arrived on scene and the victim identified Simpson as the suspect.

Police said Santana was caught leaving the room where the crime took place and found to be in possession of a loaded Glock 9mm handgun.

Simpson was charged with armed robbery, while Santana was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, illegal possession of a loaded firearm and illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine.

Simpson was held on $1,500 bail and Santana was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing set for Dec. 28.

Officials said the man who went to the hotel seeking the prostitution service will be charged at a later date.
