Man accused in stabbing that killed sister, wounded mother held without bail
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man accused of stabbing his sister and his mother in Providence was held without bail after his arraignment on Thursday.
Wesney Clairsainvil, 29, pleaded not guilty to felony murder and assault in Providence District Court.
He is accused of stabbing his sister, Daphnie Clairsainvil, to death while she was in her car preparing to go to work Wednesday morning.
He is further accused of stabbing their mother, Raysia Dupera, when she tried to intervene. She remains in the hospital in critical condition.

The attack happened at a multi-family home on Adelaide Avenue. Neighbors told ABC 6 News they are a close-knit community, and were shocked by the tragedy.
While a motive for the attack is unknown, police said in a media briefing Wednesday that anyone with mental health concerns should contact their local police department.
The attack marked the city’s 14th homicide this year.
The judge ordered a competency evaluation for Clairsainvil. He was also ordered not to contact Dupera.
Clairsainvil will appear back in court next month.
