PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence police officer was assaulted while responding to a shots fired call early Saturday morning.
According to Major David Lapatin with Providence Police, officers responded to 147 Ocean St. around 1:30 a.m., Saturday for reports of five shots fired.
When officers arrived at the scene, they said they found multiple spent shell casings and began searching the residence for any gunshot victims.
After attempting to speak with tenants on the first floor, officers were met with the landlord who helped them do wellbeing checks on the rest of the residents in the building.
Officers were unable to speak with anyone from the first floor but were met by confrontational residents in the second floor apartment.

After being told she could not enter the crime scene as the investigation was ongoing, she allegedly tried pushing by officers to get inside, which is when police arrested her. Police said she refused to comply with officers and began screaming and swearing in an attempt to incite onlookers at the scene.
following the investigation, no gunshot victims were found but five spent shell casings were located outside the home.
Police say the shots came from a black Audi with tinted windows.
Henry was charged with one count of obstructing an officer and resisting arrest, Adrian was charged with obstructing an officer, resisting arrest and one count of simple assault, Angel is charged with obstructing an officer and resisting arrest.
