Healey to swear in New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell for sixth term

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell and other city elected officials will be inaugurated on Monday night.

Mitchell will be sworn in for a four-year term by Gov. Maura Healey.

The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. at Keith Middle School at 225 Hathaway Blvd.

He was reelected for his sixth term in November after taking 64% of the vote.

Mitchell was first elected mayor in 2011.
