A Quiet Start To 2024 Weather-wise

We had a nice pleasant start to the New Year with sunshine developing this afternoon that helped to take our high temperatures into the low 40s. Look for a clear and cold night to be instore tonight with lows falling into the lower half of the 20s.
A ridge of High pressure builds in for Tuesday and Wednesday bringing near normal highs in the lower 40s along with a fair amount of sunshine. A weak system can bring a light scattered rain shower late on Thursday, but otherwise just expect a good deal of clouds with highs still in the low 40s. Colder air will settle in as we head into the weekend setting the stage for a potential winter storm on Sunday. Long range model guidance is suggesting the potential for Northeaster type storm developing with gusty winds and several inches of snow. The good news is that it looks to be a fast moving one day storm. Keep in mind that right now it is still very early and indications as to how things will ultimately evolve are likely to change in these long range models over the next couple of days. So stay tuned for updates as we move through the week.
