Providence police searching for car that allegedly hit pedestrian and fled
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department is asking for the public’s help searching for a car they said hit a pedestrian and did not stop.
According to a spokesperson for Providence police, the accident happened on December 31, 2023, at approximately 7:17 p.m. at the intersection of North Main Street and Rochambeau Avenue.
Police said the suspect car fled the scene before the police arrived and the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The suspect vehicle is described as being a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Commander, likely with front-end damage.
